Get Up and Go Beef Burritos

1. Stir-fry beef in batches; keep it moving so each piece cooks evenly.

2. Whisk together eggs, egg whites and water; pour into a heated skillet.

3. When layering the burrito ingredients, leave room at the top and sides of the tortilla so it’s easy to roll up.

4. Start by folding in each side of the tortilla, turn over once, and then finish rolling up.

Braided Beef Stromboli

1. Stir cooked ground beef and other filling ingredients until well combined.

2. For easy clean-up, roll out the pizza dough evenly right on a greased cookie sheet.

3. Spoon the beef filling down the center of the dough before cutting each side into 1” strips.

4. “Braid” the strips of dough, alternating sides, until the filling is covered.

2. Stir-fry beef in batches so your skillet isn’t overcrowded and beef browns evenly.

4. Get a helper to hold the lettuce leaves while filling with beef mixture.

S'Mores on a Stick

Here’s a fun twist on traditional s’mores:

Stick a large marshmallow on a skewer. Dip the marshmallow into chocolate sauce or warm hot fudge topping (Magic Shell® works great!). Before it dries roll the chocolate-dipped marshmallow in finely crushed graham cracker crumbs.

Indoor S’Mores

Looking for a more classic oooey-gooey s’more that you can make right in the kitchen? Here you go:

8 regular size graham crackers, broken in half
2 milk chocolate bars, broken into 8 pieces
8 large marshmallows

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lay 1/2 of the graham crackers on a baking sheet. Top with chocolate pieces to cover. Place a whole marshmallow on top of each graham cracker. Bake until the marshmallows are puffed and golden brown, about 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and top with the remaining graham crackers, pressing down slightly to make a sandwich. Serve immediately, while still warm.

Paper Mache Today!

When it comes to Paper Mache, the choices are endless. Find the recipe that works best for you and your family, use any form you can find (and are willing to sacrifice!) and, most importantly, have fun!

Simple Recipe: Mix one part flour with about two parts water until you get a consistency like thick glue. Add more water or flour as necessary. Mix well to get out all the bumps. Adding a tablespoon of salt helps prevent mold and helps the project dry faster.

Form Ideas: Balloons, wire, paper towel or toilet paper rolls, cans, jars, bottles, rolled up newspaper, mixing bowls, plastic plates and bowls, or really anything disposable! If the form isn’t disposable (i.e., a mixing bowl), let it dry completely before removing form.

Project Ideas: Holiday ornaments and decorations, party favors, school projects, decorative art, Halloween costumes

Tip! For best results, allow 2 days for the project to fully dry. If you’re in a hurry, give it at least overnight.
